Commissioned T-shirt quilt

Paula commissioned me to make three t-shirt quilts for her SIL in Nebraska.  This was the third one.  What a job!  I'm happy to be done with that for a while!

Selvage Tote Bag

Here's a new selvage tote for the Sales Booth at the Trinity Valley Quilt Show in September.  My selvage stash is getting smaller - maybe it's time to move on.....

Something Quilty....

This Hidden Spools quilt top was made by our QFC group for Margie's friend who donated two large tubs of fabric.  These blocks were from the leftovers after cutting 7 Home of the Brave quilt tops.  I'm thinking it needs a border.  Can you see the spools?

I Remember Mama

Louise Whitley Belote 1918 - 2012

My mother finished her time on earth on May 30, 2012 and joined my father in heaven.  She was a Proverbs 31 woman - always seeing to the needs of her household.  She put others before self, caring for my dad and sister until dementia and a stroke changed her.  I will always remember her as she was before her stroke, full of love and laughter and goodness.  

June Happenings

A couple of my blog friends commented that I've been neglecting my blog lately so here's a catch-up post.

Here's how the potato vine looked in May.

We came home from North Carolina June 5th to find the potato vine looked like Jack and the Beanstalk had taken over.  Oh my, how it had grown since it was planted in April (see last post).  Note for next year - 3 plants will be plenty!

One of our Japanese Yews was terminal.  The nursery thought it was due to lack of water so we started a daily regimen of soaking it.

Above is a pic 0f our new yew - planted in late June.  Hope we can keep this one alive!
