NTQF - More Random Quilts

Here are more random quilts that I liked. No rhyme or reason, some before ribbons and some after ribbons had been added.

Nancy Carr's Midnight Gypsy

I loved this quilt. The leaves had names of living members of the family and the octogans on the sides had family members that had passed on. Photos of family on the bottom and birds quilted in the top border. A very inspirational piece!

Kayleen Allen's Dutch Treat - won First Place and Viewer's Choice

There were three or four Dear Jane quilts in this show but I only photographed three of them. Susan Alotto's quilt won Best of Show and my Americana Jane won a first place.

NTQF - Quilts

Here are some of the quilts I liked, in no particular order.

NTQF - Day One and Festival Night

Mona from BCQG & Mark from the Original Sewing & Quilt Expo

Our speaker for Festival Night was Meg Cox, a quilter, author and traditions expert - (http://megcox.com/). Her talk was very interesting and entertaining - made me think of our family's traditions and rituals and the rituals I do with friends. Like always having ice cream when I see Barbara, usually Blue Bell.

Americana Jane - First Place

I headed for the quilts first thing Thursday to see if I had a ribbon and I did! Really didn't expect it - I'm very happy to be able to give both girls a prize winning quilt!

North Texas Quilt Festival - first annual 2017

We delivered our quilts to the Arlington Convention Center on Monday, August 21 between 4 and 8 p.m. Then we went back on Tuesday to hang the quilts. Didn't get a picture of Ron but he was there.

Beth Rhodes showed up around 12:00 when we were about done. Way to go, Beth. She helped a lot later on though!

More camp memories and a new puppy

This was de ja vu - we almost always see farm animals outside a fence on our way to quilt retreats.

Kathy needed a new dog since hers had passed away recently. So, we drove from camp to OKC to buy a dog!

Dog Park

We met the dog breeder at the OnCue service station/dog park in Yukon.

I'm the god-mom and I'm in puppy love!

Rhema Ranch Camp - Day 3

We made potholders for a bride-to-be that was quilting with us.

My project - a kit Sherrill Pecere donated. It will probably be donated to GateHouse, group housing for abused women and children who are trying to start over and break the cycle of abuse.

This camper wanted to learn how to make something with selvedges.

Bungee cord chair - Kathy & I want one. May need to take two cars next year!

Jessica in her handmade wedding gown. The skirt has 7 yds. of fabric in it.

Jessica - back of her wedding gown. She made it herself and it took a year. Lots of seams had to be hand-stitched because of the pearl-encrusted lace.

My camp quilt was a hit - Bikini Mama

Everyone wanted to have their picture made with my quilt!

Saturday night meal - meals were delicious - I ate too much!

Rhema Ranch Camp - Checotah, Oklahoma

Kathy Sibley and I went to quilt camp this month! It was a blast! There were approximately 90 quilters staying in bunkhouses with 12 lower bunks occupied. Sharon Carter is the organizer of this camp. We invited ourselves to camp and Sharon got us in!
