Mission Action Quilters finish

Our quilters finished this quilt recently.  It was the last one quilted on by Faye Weatherbie.  Marilyn Bowman, Aleta Mayrose, and Irene Laws were the only quilters who had worked on it that were present yesterday.  Donna Hiberd is purchasing this quilt for her collection.

Easter - March 27th, Quilt of Valor and a sculpture

Didn't take any pictures on Easter.  Amy made this collage for Facebook.  Cullen and Kenna hid the eggs and Camden and I hunted for them.

Ron & I walked down to the Bear Creek trail one night last week.  We can now access it from Williamsburg since there's a new sidewalk in the new neighborhood, Trails at Bear Creek, on the old Black property.  We found this interesting sculpture.  I'll need to go back and take a picture of the explanation. 

Botanical Gardens Butterfly exhibit and tree removal and trimming

I visited the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens in March with Linda Dwiggins.  The butterfly exhibit was not quite what I was expecting!  They had just released these butterflies and they appeared to be sleepy.  There were probably a total of 20 butterflies in the conservatory - nothing like the conservatory at Callaway Gardens where there were hundreds!

We enjoyed our day together but FW Botanical Gardens does not compare to the Dallas Arboretum!

We had some tree trimming and removal done this month.  The Acorn Tree Service was excellent - the workmen stayed busy every minute.  Looked like monkeys climbing those tall trees!  Glad Ron didn't attempt this himself.

First iris of the season...

Azaleas

More azaleas.  They were prettier this year than usual.

I've joined another sewing group that sews for charity.  I've enjoyed making activity mats or fiddle quilts for patients with dementia.  Here are a few made in March:

Looks like I'm making them busier.  This one was gifted to Connie Roberts for her mom, Dot, who has Alzheimer's disease.

Camden's spring break visit

Camden and I went to see Zootopia and over-bucketed - ate the whole bucket of popcorn.   

We had dinner at Cotton Patch with Papa - gotta have those phones out!
