A quilt for a veteran in a homeless shelter

A manly quilt for a veteran in a homeless shelter.  Sandra asked us to pick out some fabric and make a quilt top. 62 x 92.  Mine measures 64 x 100.  Not thrilled with it but it's done!

Camden joined us but no picture!  It was fun to hang out with all of them - very relaxed!  Yummy chicken salad for lunch!

We made these ornaments at Sew Many Blessings Christmas Party.  Very labor intensive!

I finished this quilt for Barbara McNeil, a stranger who came to guild requesting someone who could finish it for her.  If turned into a labor of love for me which she paid for handsomely ($300).

Me and Barbara McNeil -she was thrilled to finally have it finished.  It was started in a block of the month class in the 1990's.  Life happened - finally finished in 2022!

 

Marilyn moved!

My newest friend, Marilyn Kowalski, moved to Connecticut last week while I was in Tennessee.  She loved her owls that inhabited the owl box in her yard so I made her this mug rug as a goodbye gift.  I will miss her so much!  We drove to Sew Many Blessings together each week and attended guild together.  We had some fun times!

Visit with Barbara and Allen

 

We had a nice visit with the Anthonys last week.  We had not seen them since May, 2021 when we met at Wildflower B & B in Mountain View, Arkansas.

Barbara fed us well! 

Allen naps a lot now and has difficulty with conversations but, otherwise, is healthy and much the same as always.

Ron took this picture when we were about to head home.  Allen was still asleep.  Ron got the clock down and set to the correct time, a chore that's too high up for Barbara and Allen!

Coconut pie is all gone - must be time to go home!

Dresses for Operation Christmas Child

Dear friend, Leigh Karnes, used to put pillowcase dresses in her OCC boxes but the lady who made them for her passed away.  When she mentioned it to me, I said I can make some!  I made the group of 6 in the photo below, plus 3 more, and mailed them to her for this year's boxes.

The rest of the photos are the ones I've made so far for next year.  Great use of my free fabric finds on the opportunity tables at my two guilds.
