A quilt for a soldier

Here's my strip twist - untwisted which I made for donation to a soldier. That's Sherrill on the right. The quilt has been washed so it's nice and cuddly and ready to go to Fisher House with several quilts Sherrill and her church group have made for them. We are requesting these quilts be given to the soldier that uses them. I posted about this a while back and gave Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville.blogspot.com credit for the pattern. Mine's untwisted because I made a mistake when laying out the blocks. We hope each of these quilts will let a wounded soldier know how much we appreciate his sacrifice.

Barry's Quilt

This was a commissioned quilt using Barry's grandmother's 9-patch blocks. Maggie and Janet are hiding behind it. I think he was pleased with it. It's a happy quilt - with lots of colorful scraps put together with abandon. I hated to part with it after it was finished.

A small finish

Here's my sunflower block from the class with Darlene Christopherson. I'm fairly pleased with it. Now to find a place to use it - medallion center for a wallhanging, front of a market bag, potholder? Any other ideas?

A very bright quilt

Ron wants to know why I'm blogging about Maureen's quilt - because it's so bright and fun! I had a great time yesterday catching up with Maureen and watching her put all of these blocks on her design wall. I think this quilt will go through many changes before it's finished so I just wanted to document this version. Great job on those stack and whack triangles, Maureen. Oh, and thanks for a fun day.

Another tote bag?????

I sewed all day yesterday on selvages and here's what I have to show for it! There must be some bit of insanity going on here. I really enjoyed it though! It's so much fun to put those little dots of color and words together. Used most of my selvage stash so I'll have to start collecting again. Wonder if my friends would like to contribute?

Happy Birthday, Kenna!

It's been a while since I posted - too busy sewing on this project for Kenna! I made a comforter and some pillows for her updated bedroom. Her mom painted it pink and Aunt Jennifer bought some flowers and butterflies for wall decorations. Amy bought purple and turquoise curtains. Our baby is growing up! She'll be eleven this Thursday.
