Pincushions

This is a pile of pincushions! I worked on these all week to get them ready for Jingle & Mingle at First Baptist of Hurst. They weren't as easy to make as the luggage tags but they sure are cute.

Fall Round-Up At Nash Farm

Several members of BCQG went to Nash Farm today to demonstrate quilting and tying quilts. Shawn and Joyce taught the kids to make yoyos and let them take the one they made with them. The weather left a lot to be desired (52 degrees) but we soldiered on and had a great time, teaching and talking to the kids and parents that stopped by our table. So many of the kids didn't know how to tie knots - we have velcro to thank for that - so we did a bit of actual teaching. It was a great day and we put in our order for better weather next year.

BCQG New Member Sew-in

Rosalee, the new member liason for BCQG, organized a sew-in for new members at Quilter's Dream and Maureen, Sandra and I joined them. We worked on baby quilts for the guild's community service projects. It was a fun time, getting to know some new members and working together on a worthwhile project.

I shamelessly begged for all the selvages that were cut off and made a tidy little haul to add to my stash. I see another tote bag on the horizon....

Luggage Tags

Aren't these just the cutest things? My friend, Sherrill, over at Quilting in my Sleep showed us how to make them at our Quilting for Christ meeting yesterday. They will be sold at an event called Jingle & Mingle to raise money for our mission projects. We're thinking they will sell like hotcakes and they were so easy to make!

High Point, NC - Random Pics

Here are a few pics from our trip to NC. We had delicious pork barbecue three times! The onion rings were yummy also. I thought the orange and pink berries were interesting but I don't know what kind of plant it is.

The two greeting cards were from a card-making session with my friend, Barbara. I put them in the mail today to my mom and sister.

Maybe I'll have something quilty to post in a few days. That is, if I can find some time to sew.....
