Donation Quilts

This quilt was pieced by my friend, Sherrill, and quilted by another friend, Cindy.  I sewed on the binding and will take it to QFC for someone else to do the hand stitching.  It takes a village...

This top is a new pattern we're using this year at QFC.  It is one of Jodi Barrow's Square In A Square patterns.  Sandra cut out the kit for it and I sewed it up.  I kept track of my time on this one and spent 6 hours sewing on it.  

This was a top I made from a Block Party Bee exchange.  We traded brown and off white or tan half square triangles.  I wasn't thrilled with the blocks but think the quilt turned out O.K. after all was said and done.  It will be donated after binding to the Quilting For Christ Ministry.

This quilt top is the result of an exchange with members of the block party bee.  Wonder if my granddaughter would like to have it????

Kenna is 16!!!

We celebrated Kenna's 16th birthday last Saturday.  I remember well March 12th sixteen years ago.  There's nothing quite like the birth of your first grandchild.  So happy that she is growing into a beautiful young woman who loves the Lord and lives to serve Him.

Jennifer and Kevin were having fun with Cullen - tying his sleeves in knots.  That boy is smart though - he managed to unzip the jacket and get out.

Camden made Kenna a very cute card and scraped together $1.48 to enclose for her gift, probably his total savings!

A gift for a friend

I was talking to a friend at church and he said all of his family quilts were worn out and used up.  So, I decided he needed a quilt.  This is made from flannel I had picked up from free tables at the guilds I attend.  Backing was pieced of travel, Texas and western fabrics.  

Quilting For Christ Ministry

We had a busy day at QFC with several new girls joining us today.  The first two quilts were pieced by my friend, Sherrill, and will be donated to the First Baptist Hurst mission house.  

This is a child's string quilt pieced by the group and quilted by Geneva.  So glad Geneva is back to quilting again after several health issues.

This quilt was quilted by Joyce but I don't know who pieced it.  Very nice.  She's learning to use her new longarm machine.

Feb. and March have been rag quilt months and several have been finished and turned in for JPS, the county charity hospital.  So pretty and snuggly for some baby in need.
