Merry Christmas!

What a difference a day makes... The first photo is Christmas Eve morning when the mourning doves were fighting for a place at the table. They sure do eat a lot - the poor cardinals and chickadees may go hungry. The second photo is Christmas morning after our beautiful 2 inches of snow. This was taken from our front porch, looking out on our neighbor's yard. It has been a quiet, peaceful (and pieceful) day. Did a little sewing on my selvage zinger quilt which I hope to finish tomorrow.

Company's coming!

I always amaze myself when I know company's coming and get motivated to clear the decks and tidy up all my cluttered areas. Why don't I live like this all the time? Sure wouldn't want company to see how my sewing room usually looks - ha, ha!

Will this make me more creative tomorrow?

What's on YOUR design wall?

I've been working on this guy quilt for our Quilting For Christ group this week. The small pictures are of two border options. Maureen suggested a light zinger with a dark border and the other picture is just a solid black border. What do you think? Any other ideas?

Bee Christmas Party

The Wannabees had our Christmas lunch at the Cheesecake Factory today where we exchanged our gifts. We each exchanged fabric last year and had to make a gift without knowing who the recipient would be. Cindy made me a casserole carrier with my fabric. I had Cindy's fabric and made her a pillow top or wallhanging with wool applique. Janet made Maggie's table runner, Kaye made Janet's wallhanging, and Maggie made Kaye's table topper. The projects were supposed to be unfinished but I lucked out - mine is done! So, I don't have another UFO to add to my stack. We were happy to have Kathy Gale join us for lunch. She's new to our bee and graciously took photos for us.

Another Selvage Bag

I made this bag with blue and white polka dot lining and straps. It's for another friend who is much taller so maybe it won't drag the ground when she carries it. Planning to make another one for our guild's silent auction at the quilt show in April. These bags are large and will be great for keeping in the car for quick trips to the grocery, Be green - take your own bag and keep the plastic out of the landfill.

Selvage tote bag

Thought I'd better take this bag's picture since I'm about to go to lunch with a friend and give it away. This friend is vertically challenged so she may have to tie a knot in the straps to keep from dragging the floor with it. At least that's what dear husband had to say about it!
