The first day of a Caravan tour is all about getting to the starting point. We arrived in Rapid City, SD around lunch time after an uneventful flight (best kind). We were in first class through some fluke in using our miles and we enjoyed it. No meal but we did get snacks and the use of a private bathroom!
Checked into the Rushmore Hotel for two nights and headed to the hotel restaurant for lunch - a huge chunk of lasagne that was delicious.
After a short nap for me, we walked around the main street of town, looking at the statues of Presidents on each corner and admiring the art on the walls of buildings.
Dinner was a huge banana split for me and a large sundae for Ron.
There was music in a downtown park - a bit loud for us but fun to people watch for a while.

Yes it was - three scoops. It was almost too much for me!
