Here are a few pictures from our first day in Costa Rica. This is written as a journal to help me remember the highlights of our trip.
The view from our hotel, Real Intercontinental San Jose.
Interesting sculptures in the Market area of downtown San Jose. Busy place with people standing on street corners selling souvenirs and lottery tickets.
Lunch - weren't sure if we made it clear we wanted chicken but it tasted like we got what we ordered!
Razor wire on top of fences around many of the buildings downtown. Evidently theft is a problem.
Bird outside our hotel window. I thought the flock was parrots but someone said they were parakeets. Whatever!
Traffic was crazy in Costa Rica. When crossing streets, the pedestrian should look both ways and RUN! Cars don't always yield to pedestrians. Our hotel is in the back left of this photo and the mall is to the right. Thankfully, there was a pedestrian walkway that we were standing on to take this photo. Wouldn't want to try to cross here!
