Costa Rica - Day 4

Our river guide, Johnny.  He told us he had always lived in Tortuguero and had been a licensed guide for about 20 years.  Before that he was a poacher.  So he had always lived off the land - illegally for his early years as a poacher, and then legally as a guide.  


Caiman - a type of crocodile.  Didn't think he was alive until he moved!


This is a water-walking lizard, locally known as the Jesus Christ lizard.

Back to the lodge after our excursion to find our room made up, with a towel swan.  Hey, we're not on a cruise, are we?
