Our second day started with more rain as we began our Riverboat Discovery tour. The riverboat was very comfortable and we had good views of the activity along the river. We watched a float plane take off and land and learned about sled dogs and saw them race around a track behind the owner's house. Susan Butcher's legacy lives on through her husband and children who continue to raise and race sled dogs. Susan was a four-time winner of the Iditarod.
At Chena Village we saw a demo by a native Athabascan Indian on preparing salmon and lectures about life in Alaska. We were treated to delicious salmon dip and crackers on the riverboat.
We enjoyed lunch at Big Daddy's Barbecue in downtown Fairbanks and then traveled to the University of Alaska Museum of the North for the afternoon. Pictures to follow another day.

I love the museum at the University!! One of my favorites!!!! Art galleries and museums are number one on our list of "things to do" when we travel.
